Same same but different: Maed for Mini style

Do we need to re introduce ourselves, or are we ok to just pick up where we left? They say good friends can do that! So now you know how we feel about those of you that still come and visit us here… Thank you for that!

So where were we? Probably somewhere that involves our family and taking photos because… well, we just love both. So when Maerle from Maed for Mini asked if we would like to work with her and create a blogpost around her brand we didn’t even blink our eyes before we said YES! We love her passion and we love her clothes! The only small problem is that we are not that blog. We don’t promote, we don’t tell you what to like, buy, or think. We live and we use.

So here we are, doing what we do best: living, using, loving and taking some photos along the way! Do you remember Same same but different? So many similarities between us, but also so many differences. This time we both went beach bound in our fall break, we both have pretty babies and we both brought some favorites from Maed for mini winter collection!

1. Happy birthday to us!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US!

Exactly one year ago we were nervous as hell. (As you can see on these high-on-the-ugly-truth-scale photos we sent each other 1 second before we went live…). The start of a new thing called blogging. The birth of our baby called “the door”.

And here we are. 1 year old, proud winners of a Dutch Mom Blog Award, a real logo, full of love for our readers and friends for life. Happy birthday to us!

We could do a huge give away to celebrate. We thought about it, but the car dealer backed out at the last moment. So we will do the next best thing:

It’s been five days since THE DOOR IN THE WALL has been awarded with 2 Dutch Mom Blog Awards 2015 in the category Lifestyle and Fashion. One from a professional jury and one from you guys. Craaaazy, let us tell you that. Hearing about our nomination was like hearing that Eddie Redmayne might have a crush on us. Again craaaazy. And now it’s there, out in the open. We are nominated for the Dutch Mom Blog Awards 2015!

WE ARE NOMINATED!! | THE DOOR IN THE WALL

We tried to be cool and relaxed about it. But already failed big time in the title. Seriously. We never expected this. We are so honored! And even more excited!

You know that phrase: dream big, aim high? It works. We are living proof.

When we started this blog, not even a year ago, we had 3 goals:

1: The blog had to be beautiful, honest and close to who we are.
2: It had to be fun. Lots of it.
3: We wanted to end up in the Fabulous Mama Magazine. Somehow.

True story!

During our daily blog meetings (or Whatsapp conversations, whatever you want to call it), we often referred to that. “Keep Fabulous Mama in mind!” followed by “haha”. Because we could never have imagined this would be real life. And suddenly it is.

This is where you all come in. We need your help! But only if you like us and want us to kick ass of course.

Our category is Fashion & Lifestyle and together with two other blogs we are dying for your vote. Somehow we turned from cool and relaxed to extremely thrilled and fanatic. You know how we deal with challenges, battles or what games so ever (Madelon says she hates games, but we all know better).

A little more about these great awards: the Dutch Mom Blog Awards, founded by Esther Buitendijk from Blogstreet and UrbanMoms.nl, will be presented for the second time on the 17th of September 2015 at the Bugaboo store in Amsterdam. Categories are: Fashion & Lifestyle, Interieur & Lifestyle en Parenting. There will be a two prices, judged by professionals and judged by readers (you!). There will also be a Talent Award and an award for the best Instagrammer.
