Last week we buried our first bird. Quite impressive for a three year old, but even more for her mother, who wanted to introduce the death theme in a good-parenting-proof way.

Working at the car wash
Remember those days when washing a car was the most fun thing you could ever imagine?

PS. I made some photos. Of course.
Family rituals
I’m a sucker for family rituals. Especially the ones that are just suddenly there. Little habits that sneak in. Like our after dinner dances.
Now all we need is them to love ” grown up” music…

Ladybug lessons: picking flowers
Ever since Vie wrote about the ladybug lessons, it’s in my head. Telling me to slow down. To enjoy the little things. To make time to wonder and explore together with my children, without rushing.
I don’t always succeed, but I’m getting better. Baby steps.
We made a little video for you today. So sit down, slow down and “smell the roses” while you do.

It’s the little things
It’s the little things in life. It’s the ladybug lessons. We have to look closer, walk slower. It helps to see what’s happening right in front of us. It helps to feel alive.
Today J fell asleep next to me while watching Musti. I didn’t bother to put her in her own bed. I just laid there listening to her breathing, smelling it (a weird mama’s thing) and watching her sleep. Suddenly I saw how her legs were in the exact same pose as mine when I fall asleep (and maybe many others out there).
The beauty of being two
Remember the ladybug lessons?
We brought them to life.
I filmed R walking our every day walk down our street (with my iPhone, that explains the quality).
I just want to remember this. Because you think you do. But you don’t.

PS. Music is by Yiruma Piano Collection (River flows in you).
Ladybug lessons
Rush hour or better: rush life. Sounds familiar? I guess I’m not the only one running from one place to another, while planning the rest of the day, the groceries or the weekend. Go with the flow. And that’s ok I guess, it’s called ‘life as you know it’. But it wouldn’t hurt to be a little more present right? Which reminds me of my train adventure the other day.
